Sherpa! Profile: David Felfoldi

  January 24th, 2012

David Felfoldi, CEO and Founder of Sherpa! Web Studios, developed the idea for Sherpa! while in a not-so-very digital place — multi-pitch climbing Talulah Gorge in North Georgia. It occurred to him that the challenge of a long, technical climb was a suitable metaphor for digital marketing initiatives.

Professionally, David started as the self-taught senior web designer for Siemens Energy & Automation. Two years later, he co-founded a web development firm as early as legally permissible and proceeded to grow it while obtaining a B.S. in Psychology, graduating magna cum laude with highest honors from the University of Georgia. That firm would go on to be recognized by its employees as one of Atlanta's "Best Places to Work" for two consecutive years. The firm was also consecutively ranked "Top Web Design and Development Firm," "Fastest Growing Private Company," and an Inc. 5000 "Fastest Growing Firm."

Over the past 14 years, David has guided a wide assortment of clients as their digital marketing strategist, including notable firms such as ADP, Spanx, Racetrac, and cBeyond.

In college, David took a break from the books — collegiate and accounting — by joining a ballroom performance group. These survival skills of the dance floor would prove critical out in the wilds of the Atlanta salsa scene, where he captured the attention of his future wife, Jessica, an Equal Justice Works Fellow at Atlanta Legal Aid Society.

When not tinkering with technology or musing web methodology, David enjoys training for challenges by running with his dogs, cycling with the Sherpa! Centurions cycling club, or arguing with his "quit" voice over bouts of Crossfit.
